Botanical Name: Acer palmatum Scolopendrifolium Rubra
Common Name: Narrow-leaf Maple or Finger-leaf Maple. Rubra is the red leafed version of the Narrow-leaf Maple
Zones: 5-8
Description: Acer palmatum Scolopendrifolium is sometimes referred to as the Finger-leaf Maple because of the narrow cut-leaf appearance of the leaves. It very much resembles a dissectum variety of a Japanese Maple, but is upright much like a Bloodgood or Emperor 1. Rubra is the purple leafed version of this plant. If you're looking for a small tree to make a statement, this is the one!
